OK I'm the worlds biggest procrastinator! I purchased 4 sticks of memory several years ago from Velocity-remember the name? They are 128mg 60ns EDO, which should work in my S900, as EDO is a subset of FPU?
I can't even test the new chips! Installing one, and powering up- no monitor, no response to keybord commands like shutdown or restart either.
Try putting one 64 MB stick in A1, another in A4 and then put the Velocity memory between them in A2 and A3 and see if you can boot. If you can, you'll be able to test it with RAMometer.
But it doesn't look good. My first order from Velocity was all good, when the price was $80 per stick and taht looked like a bargain.
My second order at $50 per stick had three back out of ten which was when I got serious about RAM testing.
My third order which was for another list member outside the USA had seven bad sticks out of eight. So Velocity shipped at least some orders where a huge portion of the sticks were faulty.
They were good about providing replacements when they were still around.
