I'm pretty sure this is not a media related error, as I picked up a brand new hard drive, put it in the FW enclosure, and immediately got the same error messages (while in OS9). I also tried another FW enclosure with the same results. About the only thing I haven't tried is to take my FW drive to a different computer with OS9 and see what happens. I have booted from a different source (ie OS9 on CD) with my computer and still have problems, so I'm wondering if there's an issue with my ADS Dual Link and OS9 (though it did appear to work for a short time after I purchased it). For the record, I did manage to fix the original IBM drive by doing as you mentioned above - hooked it up to the ATA card and ran both DiskWarrior and Norton (they both crashed constantly while originally attempting to fix the disk in the FW case). However, as soon as I put the drive back in the FW case, corruption city (again, with OS9 only, not OSX). That original drive (an 80GB IBM Deskstar) has now become my new OSX boot/app drive hooked up to a Sonnet ATA133 card, and it's been running flawlessly for a couple of weeks now. So, it's narrowed down to an OS9/FireWire issue on my machine. -- Gregg -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
