I'm using (or at least have tried to use) the Intech HDST v3.5 utility.

I've tried both ways a number of times. The only way I can do anything to
the drive in OS9 (without crashing or failed errors) is hooking the drive up
to the ATA card. In OSX I can format or reinitialize using FW (but have also
tried with the ATA hookup).

My PRAM-zapping hotkeys and CUDA button have been getting a serious workout
... ;).
