George,

My S900 has been nothing more than a doorstop for the
past three weeks. Further adding to my agony is having
two hard drive crashes within 24 hours of each other.
One of which had OS 9.1 on there.

I've done everything from check SCSI ID to reset the
motherboard.
I'm using standard SCSI cables and can't even boot
from my external CD-R drive.

I should've just bought a G3/300 when I had the
chance.
What really gets me is I was doing some work on a
friend's PC and got HERS up and running and it isn't
even a Mac.

This will be the LAST pre-g3 I ever buy.
But I'm grateful that the people in this group have
been so willing to offer their help.
I'm very sorry that you haven't had good luck with your S900 machine. What makes you so sure that the Beige G3 would have been any better? Bad luck user error it all happens with every make and model of machine. Chances are your machine can be made to work but it may take someone helping you in person. Best of luck Will S
