Also, the S900 has the second processor slot, while the J700 doesn't. Not much of an issue for most people anymore...
It was all an attempt to leverage greater economy of scale. The exact same logic board is in the C500 and C600 as well, with a 2- or 3-slot PCI riser card, respectively, to provide the specific number of PCI slots.
Didn't work -- still lost about $36-million.
:-) Umax lost money on every sale, but they made it up in volume?
