Regarding Paul's comments "The primary difference between a S900 and J700, besides orientation, is the number of PCI slots. Everythiong else is the same. You could use the
same upgrade card. If you keep it you have a "spare" power transformer.OWC is still selling ram for these at a great price on the e-mail special list. Paul C," you are so right!

I knew that these used the same motherboards, but didn't realize how identical they were until I received my S-900 last week. If you rotate the CD-ROM cage 90 degrees (it'll still fit!) and set the J-700 on its side, you'll basically have a S-900. The front bezel won't work/look right and you've got no feet to stabilize the unit, but electronically it would be the same, (except the extra PCI slots, of course!). I bought the S-900 stock for $30 plus shipping, so it's hard to go wrong. I ended up with the Sonnet G3 400/512 and a Powerlogix G3 375/1024. I can overclock the Powerlogix and with the faster backside cache, I thought I would hang on to it. As to hanging on to the J-700 for parts, I considered it, but it's more than I care to store, plus I just thought that someone else could enjoy it for not a lot of money. Oh, yeah, I've bought 12 of those RAM chips from OWC and will probably buy a few more as I get this bad boy up and going. Thanks for the comments, Paul.
