Do some research before laying out for an IDE card; the Acard one is really a better choice than the Sonnet ATA133 card, which suffers from the 8GB install partition limit problem. If you want to run a DVD or CD writer from it then the Acard isn't much good though.

I agree that the Acard (SIIG Mac ATA 133 is the same card usually cheaper and has 5 year warranty,Acard has i think 1 or 2 year warranty) is in many ways a better card for use with Old World Macs. The ability to use any size drive is a big plus. Can you tell us where you got the info on using DVD & CDRW drives with it? The info I've read seems to say you are wrong on this. xlr8yourmac.com website is my source. It is true that the older Acard ATA 66 (also sold as Sonnet ATA66) cards only worked correctly with a few models of CDRW & DVD drives. I can get most DVD/CDRW drives to work as readers with the Acard 66 but get hardware error when I try to burn disks. This issue seems to have been fixed with the Acard 100 and 133 cards. SIIG site says most all ide CDRW drives will work with their card using Toast for burning. There is of course the chance that some drives won't work with either card. Will S
