From you. I was asking about this very subject a couple of months ago. I too was getting hardware errors when trying to write to a Pioneer DVD 107 drive.
Changing the Acard to a Sonnet 133 card fixed that, but introduced the 8MB partition limit.

This brings up the point of every model of a brand name is not the same. Had you said my Acard ATA 66 card doesn't work with my DVD drive that would have been clear info. The Acard ATA 133 works fine with Pioneer DVD drives. I just did a check at the xlr8yourmac.com data base to be sure. The Sonnet 100 & 133 cards may work with a few more models of drives then the Acard do but the current models both seem to work fine with most drives. The Sonnet 133 Raid model is an Acard just to make it harder to tell what is what. Will S
