Hand up. Somewhere around here I have an old Shaum's Outline Guide on Electronics, the first several chapters of which deal with the theory and operation of various vacuum tube components.

For those not familiar with Shaums (Schaums?) Outline Guides they publish a number of very readable summaries on technical subjects. If you are or have kids or grandkids who are taking calculus I highly recommend their guide on Advanced Calculus. It made many things that were obscure in class and text books much clearer to me many many years ago and I still keep it around as a reference when a current class expects me to dredge up and use calculus like math.
