Inmy machine, at least, even the VGA-only Radeon would only operate in
the top two slots, though I have heard of the Acards doing fine in the
lower slots. Sonnets, as aforementioned, tend to use the FirmTek
chipset... which I think I also mentioned misbehaves in my Gigabit
Ethernet G4.

I'mnot certain of why exactly Umax usaed the bridge chip, but the
reason I gave echoes their own... but who's to say. Propaganda? Maybe.
It wouldn't surprise me.
