regarding who rebadges whom's hardware, i think it is inadvisable to put
too much stock into the images found on various websites, even the
mfgr's sites, because we all know it is not at all uncommon for the
image to differ from the actual product.
that being said, here are links to two pages which show apparently
identical cards. the first is the page at newegg purportedly showing
the acard 6280m, and the second at buy.com purportedly showing the SIIG
ultraATA pro card. FWIW, these images appear to be of the same card.

however, there are two SIIG cards currently on ebay (why am i telling
potential bidding competitors this??), and the photos of the items do

SIIG may even have switched horses in mid-stream, as it were. older
version being made by whoknows, and current versions being made by acard.
it's a theory . . . . . just a theory. anyway, the universe is
bewildering enough. when will and jeff are not on the same page, i just
want to go into the bedroom and hide under my blanket.
