the card and Acards are all seen as SCSI cards. This one is seen as ata like the Sonnet promise/firmtek cards. It would be interesting to see if it has the OSX install on the first 8gb of the drives issue the Sonnets have. If so then it would likely be that they are using firmtek firmware. Now if it doesn't have that issue and no other new ones this could be a great card for older Macs & clones. Drives being seen

I got this card because I had a 160gig HD that I could only use about 137 gigs of but I did have OSX (10.4.2 was the last) installed on it. After putting in the SIIG I had all 160 gigs but OS X will not run on it. It kernal panics on start-up. Even tried installing e- Drive form TT Pro on it with the same result. Soooo, I assume it indeed does have the 8gb issue. Is there a work around for that issue? I had only marginally paid attention the any of those discussions in the past because It didn't apple to my situation at the time. I have an upgraded PowerMac G-4 400 (now 1.4 OWC processer) running Tiger that the 160gig drive is in and 2 C-600's, one with a MacTell upgrade and the other bare right now, no hard drive but with the original 240 for parts. I have been on the list almost from the beginning and used the C-600 as my main computer for a long time. I still use it for internet access with a router when the PowerMac is busy with other users (me!) That is the reason I still am on the list and read the mail from it but I quit trying to upgrade the SuperMac. It is maxed out in ram and power. My PowerMac is also now maxed as far as I am concerned and the next step will be a G-5. All that background aside, is there something can do to get Tiger to install using the SIIG card. I have 2 drives on that bus. The 160 and a 120 gig which runs 10.4.3 with no problem? Later, Paul
