For the extensions, fair enough: not all of them are compatible (yet). And much have been said about doing away with the much loved form manager.
But I don't see how version 2 could have "trashed" anything if you haven't done anything weird with either it or version 1 (or either or both of their profiles). The version 1 profile isn't used at all by version 2 (because it simply *can't* use it) and so sits untouched for you to go back to if needed, without anything changed in it.
If version 2 "trashed" your version 1 address book and such, then I'd say it's a case of PEBKAC.
