What Thunderbird 3 problems are you talking about? Are you sure these same
issues will not be in the mailnews part of SeaMonkey 2?

[I do much prefer the UI of SeaMonkey compared to ThunderBird, but perhaps this
is because I am used to it.]

I have read here that it is not possible to install just specific parts of
SeaMonkey. Personally I love the suite, though I only use the browser and
mailnews parts of it.
