What I normally see when this occurs is a "(not responding)" message in
the windows title bar.
While it is highly irritating, I have found that when I switch to
another (non SM) window, a few minutes later SM starts responding.
I have also found that if I look at task manager after one of these
events, I frequently find multiple instances of seamonkey running... so,
I shut down the current instance of SM, then use task manager to kill
the old SM processes.
I am always reluctant to kill the current instance of SM based on having
had either profile or bookmark corruption from doing so.
