I just tried it and it works for me.
*sigh* Edit / Prefs / Browser / Helper apps and no button for new type in SM 2.0.5 I don't like Firefox because it gives me less control over what happens & SM seems to be going in the same direction. Oh well.. time to give Opera a try I guess.
