Sometimes I'd like to be able to have only my Browser
open and not have E-mail checking in the background.
E-mail seems to check even when the E-mail window is
not open.
The reason is that sometimes I receive large files with
pictures (usually political cartoons and the like) and
that can clog things up for streaming video.
Anyone recall where that switch is, please?
Edit - Preferences - Mail & Newsgroups
Check - Only check for new email after opening Mail & Newsgroups.
Remember, if you then open the browser, open the Mail client, close the
Mail client, mail will be checked until all open SeaMonkey components
are closed.
