You two are both using Windows XP. How much ram? Free disk space? The
program should be ready to go in just a couple of seconds. Do either of
you have it open a page on the web as the start page? -- change it to a
blank page. Clear your cache. Stop it from checking for email at
startup.
Depends what else is going on. If nothing, yes, it's up in less than ten
seconds. But if I'm running a heavy-duty Access query that sucks up a
lot of CPU time, it can take a minute or more. And when I'm running my
nightly backup program, it can take as long as five minutes. But in no
case do I see a splash screen.
