In my case 64 bit Win7 Ultimate with SM 2.0.10 and IrfanView installed,
the SM mail/news component opened the browser to the referenced url
and then put up a screen asking if I wanted the GIF opened
via IrfanView(default) or some other program, or be saved.
- When I selected IrfanView, it opened and displayed the GIF
- When I clicked on the x-close gadget of the IrfanView display
the system went wild!!
It began displaying pieces of what looked like log files or scripts
with some coloured text in the upper left corner of the screen,
I was finally able to stop this with an alt-F4 and a couple of ctrl-W.
Gave me a bit of a scare there.
Wow. Is that reprodcable? Weird stuff.
After posting, I intentionally read several other messages and then
re displayed the message with the link to //c0389 .../342251.full.gif.
This time when I clicked the x to close the IrfanView picture, it closed
IrfanView normally falling back to the blank SM browser screen and
ctrl-W closing that, and closing the nuisance download manager, brought
me back to the support.seamonkey message.
I did not try any further experiments!
