Hi Phil,

Thanks for the suggestions. I updated the touchpad drivers, and cleaned
the touchpad to remove any skin oils or dirt. I cannot find any means of
adjusting the pad pressure, despite a thorough search. At this moment,
the typing seems to be fine, and I hope that it continues.

You didn't mention the manufacturer for your touchpad (or I missed it,
skimming the thread), but as far as Synaptics' touchpads go, there's a driver
setting (Palmcheck) to control the pad's sensitivity and guard against
unintended cursor movement.

Might be beneficial to do one more review of your driver settings.  I can't
speak to non-Synaptic touchpads, but it would strike me as strange for other
manufacturers not to have some similar control function marked, say,
"Sensitivity" or the like.
