Yes, I do this also. I close SM on both machines and SyncToy the profiles.
SyncToy. I haven't heard that one before, but it seems it is from MS and
only for Windows.
So yeah, I have to close my SM2.0.x since some files (*.mab) aren't
updated when in used. Others, like bookmarks.html and mail files, do get
updated right away and aren't in used for me.
