Interviewed by CNN on 26/11/2011 09:35, MCBastos told the world:
Anyway... as I figure out, I see the following icon variants:
Closed envelope = standard for both new (unread) and read messages
(hmmm... shouldn't be an open envelope for read messages?)
Closed envelope with a (very small) left-pointing blue triangle =
replied message
Closed envelope with a (very small) right-pointing red triangle =
forwarded message
Upside-down squarish comics speech bubble = newsgroup message or RSS
feed entry (replaced with the closed-envelope-with-blue arrow if responded)
BIG nonstandard curved right-pointing green arrow = Bounce-redirected
message, created by the Mail Redirect extension.
I wonder how all those variants work together if more than once applies
(like if I both answer a message and forward it to other people who
might be interested).
Hmmm, funny, I just tried opening Seamonkey in Safe Mode and the icons
changed slightly. Now the replied one has a slightly bigger
left-pointing purple arrow, as Geoff said; the forwarded one has a
right-pointing blue arrow; the bounce-redirected one disappeared; and I
noticed that if I disable the "attachment" column, the envelope for the
messages with attachments gets a paperclip. But news messages I replied
to do not get a changed icon.
Apparently one of my extensions is changing all the mail icons; perhaps
it's Mail Redirect, perhaps it's Enigmail... I'll have to test and check.
