As I did with SeaMonkey 2.4, I still get frequent (about 30 % of the

I stumbled upon something that might provide a clue regarding what's
happening:
I have had, for as long as I can remember, SeaMonkey configured to play
a sound after downloads. (The sound I use is the "tada" that I think is
standard in the Windows media folder.)
I noticed that the sound wasn't being heard when SeaMonkey would hang
after a download. On downloads that didn't hang, I would hear the sound.
So I conducted the experiment of turning off the "play a sound after
downloads". I had absolutely no download hangs from that point on. I
tried once turning "play a sound" on again, and hangs (occasional, not
every time) returned.
So now I am using SeaMonkey with "play a sound" turned off, and am
having no problems.
Does this information help, or indicate a known problem?
Bob
