Are the files for SM 2.72 in locations that most [or possibly all]
backup programs will copy them automatically in Windows 7? Or will I
have to copy them separately to be sure?
Also, I have a new GoFlex external drive and I'm trying to decide what
is the simplest backup solution for essentially a novice. I have the
choice of using Gateway's My Backup software [that I don't know what it
will include] that has a hot key for use; the Seagate back up software
on the drive [same problem, don't know what it will backup]; or wiping
off the software on the drive, and trying the free Macrium software to
clone the drive.
I used Acronis software on a smaller Maxtor hard drive for my desktop
for many years, but I never had to restore anything,, so all I can say
about that, was it was easy to setup and use. :)
I don't have a lot of irreplaceable files like many people, I just want
protection if I should have to restore to a date that would lose a lot
program downloads, mail, and other personalization on my laptop.
I had been copying earlier versions of SM on my XP laptop on a flash
drive. This laptop is Win7 and I'm still wandering in the dark with it.
;) Any advice is appreciated....
