Not working with Firefox either, but I got it to register in SeaMonkey
following the instructions for Firefox 3.5 and above, found here.

Now it comes up with the Launch Application popup and asks you to Chose
an Application to open the file. I have no idea what that application
might be.

I never use the one-click installs, but do it the geeky, nerdy way, by
installing the application from the software management application,
which usually finds all the dependencies, and installs them.

Hopefully a Ubuntu guru will be more helpful.
