Hi,

I am running 2.12.1 x64 under (OpenSuse) Linux.

When editing html documents I frequently switch to the "<html> source"
view and update directly. Starting some time fairly recently (a month
or two back), Clicking Find and Replace or CTRL+F does not cause
anything to happen. Then I play around with the document a bit more and
it works again.
When I say "does not cause anything to happen" I mean that the "Find and
Replace" menu simply does not appear.

Well, the usual advice applies:

- Try it in Safe Mode and see if it still happens.

- Disable extensions and see if one of them is the cause.

- Try a new install and see if that fixes it.

Clicking "Save" to save the current version does not make any difference
and is actively dangerous if the current version contains invalid html
which I am trying to repair.

Hmm, not sure what this means nor how it applies to the above.

This problem may not be restricted to Linux or the "<html> source" view,
that is just where I do most of my editing.

Which problem? The Find issue? Or the Save issue? Have you seen those problems in the program when /not/ in the HTML source view?
