Try "Restart with Add-ons Disabled" to see if an extension is causing a
problem.

I had a minor accident and got distracted for a bit but tested this
under Windows 7 and Linux.
The search-and-replace dialog only works once I have made some other
(unsaved) change, something like deleting and re-inserting some random
character.
