I have Plain text color as black. But that is for incoming messages. Not
for reply with quote. There is no setting for that. I've been through
all this with TB years ago. I could not believe the arrogance that
everyone LOVES a garish blue color thus no way to change it except in a
very complicated manner.

Desiree, don't know if it will help you, but I just did a check of SM's
prefs in its Browser and came up with the "msgcompose.text_color" pref
which is set to "#000000". Maybe, if you opened the SeaMonkey Browser (I
seem to recall you don't use it, normally), enter "about:config" and
accept the warning, you might be able to filter on
msgcompose.text_color, then you might be able to change the colour for
composing messages. Don't know if it also applies to replying to messages!
Unfortunately at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Mail_and_news_settings, they
don't state the meaning of the pref, but it might do what you want!!
