I see. I don't have "Read" or "Junk" selected in my list, so I don't see any dots. At any rate, it's nothing peculiar to the dot. You can click anywhere in the line to select and open a message, with exactly the same effect. For me, *bolding* is enough of a visual clue that I don't need a dot to confirm it, so I save the space for useful information such as a little more of the subject line. -- War doesn't determine who's right, just who's left. -- Paul B.
