I saw some information about Java working, so I went to Tools -> Add-ons Manager and checked to see if I had Java running. I did not, so I clicked on the link "Check to see if your plugins are up to date"

I did that and a new tab opened up which took me to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/. That page, below the racoon with the magnifying glass, had a box that said,

   Missing Java?
For your safety, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Java.
Please upgrade to the latest version.

I clicked on the "upgrade to the latest version" link and was taken to http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp . There I clicked on the red "Free Java Download" button and ended up at http://java.com/en/download/linux_manual.jsp?locale=en, which was "Java Downloads for Linux
Recommended Version 7 Update 17"

I downloaded and installed the Linux (i386) RPM and quit SeaMonkey.

I then executed,

cd /usr/local/seamonkey
mkdir plugins
cd plugins
ln -s /usr/java/latest/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so .

I restarted SeaMonkey, went to Tools -> Add-ons Manager and again saw that Java was missing. Clicking on the link "Check to see if your plugins are up to date" took me to the same page with the same note about Java being disabled.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,

Craig
