No, you're the one that's ignoring the issue.  I thought I was clear enough with
   Consider the possibility that others might not give a damn if a page
   validates or not - just that it displays properly >>for them<<

If you want to create standards-compliant web pages that validate
perfectly - have fun.  I'm not stopping you nor even suggesting that
you shouldn't try to create perfectly compliant web pages.  What I am
saying is that at least one other person does not share your values
and couldn't care less if a page validates or no.  What I care about
is that the page displays properly for me, on my computer, with a
minimal effort on my part.
