Dick, et al

As suggested, I've been comparing the script on the page I originally
mentioned (our main menu / introduction) with the page that someone hit
upon (I wish I knew how) that happens to be the page I am currently
expanding. I have also enabled the control bar on both pages which were
previously hidden, plus have corrected the path error of the "bgsound"
script on the Tartini page.

<bgsound> is the whole problem

replace with <object> or <embed> (as Phil Chee mentioned)

I'm not making this up;

Just remember that w3schools has been known in the past to offer some rather poor advice regarding HTML and CSS. Always verify what they offer by checking other sources, most notably the W3C which is a totally separate org and much more definitive.
