Nice, but does this work in SeaMonkey web browsers too? It doesn't seem
to work for my v2.23 browser and its value was "3". I changed it to "0"
to show the close button only in the active tab. I only see the close
button in the far right of the tab strip. :(

Well that page doesn't mention SM (see 'Has an effect in') and
you say it doesn't work in yours, so I'd guess it doesn't work in SM
  :(

Thanks. I wonder why browser.tabs.closeButtons setting exists if it doesn't do anything when changed from its default value. Bah!
