And/or maybe include a modifier key that would open in the same Tab as now when held (like shift+click or such) or just provide the operation on right click in the Context Menu similar to current. Personally, I use right click to open in a new Tab all the time...really like it.You might want to try Tab Clicking Options. I use a middle-click on a link, or on a bookmark, to open in a new tab. A middle-click on a blank area of the tab bar opens a new blank tab. Middle-click on a tab to close it. <https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/tab-clicking-options/?src=ss> or <http://twanno.mozdev.org/tabclicking/index.html> It says not available for SM 2.23 but you can mod the install.rdf file in the.xpi package and it works fine.Being a Mac user I take "extreme measures" just to invoke a right-click (cntrl+click)...so middle click isn't really an option for me. But it's been pointed out that I can use command-click ("splat"-click) and open in an new Tab directly instead of using the contextual menu. That's pretty nice option for use with my Magic Trackpad. I really hate mice...I was a trackball devotee until I got this Trackpad. After a bit of use I've grown to seriously prefer it.If you do decide to fiddle with middle-click functionality, you might want to look at MagicPrefs or Better Touch Tool. I can't vouch for them, mind you, as I haven't bothered with anything but LazyMouse (which I love dearly). The LazyMouse author let the domain expire, so I guess that LazyMouse will not see any more updates.
I have Better Touch Tool...but now that you mention it I don't really do much with it.
I'm working up the habit of splat-clicking. Hard breaking my old habit of using the cntrl+click gesture but I'm liking it when I can make myself remember to use it.
