In my list of files where I can place incoming E-mail is an entry

The Archive feature allows you to set up an archive of your messages,
rather than deleting them. When you want to archive a message, just
press <Shift>-<A>. It's also in the Message menu and right-click menu.
For Archiving preferences and to disable it, go to
Edit-->Mail_&_Newsgroups_Account_Settings-->Copies_&_Folders.
And what is the benefit of this? And how does it actually work? For
example, is the archive part of the profile or outside of it? Why should
I use it?
