The same is true for my 2.30a1.

It hasn't bothered me enough to look for a workaround. Maybe others know.

That i have not noticed. I modify the display of the sig since many
years. This is done so:

.moz-txt-sig, .moz-signature { background-color: #f0f0f0; }

You could set your own preferred values. :)
