Bill, the OP is using SeaMonkey 2.26.1 which Sync doesn't work in.

Walt, I'm using 2.26 and Sync works fine -- as I remember, the key was
to install it under an earlier version of SM (maybe 2.25?), then upgrade
to the latest version. (I had delayed upgrading because the latest
upgrades break Lightning; keeping Sync was a nice fringe benefit!)
