Based on your statement I'm not sure what you want to accomplish. A new
profile with all the same content is NOT a new profile: It's a copy of
the existing profile.

I'm having an issue with my current profile. I did create a new profile
and the issue doesn't occur. But I didn't want to have to recreate all
my settings, mail, etc. too.
If you use MozBackup and create a copy of the old profile, then you can
do a restore of just 2 or 3 of the section of the backup to the new
profile. Then if all is working well, you can go and restore a few more
section until the problem surface, then you would know one of files
causing the problem. Really you need to look into MozBackup.
