Also http://www.passmark.com/products/diskcheckup.htm I took a quick look at gsmartcontrol - very quick, so I probably missed much, but diskcheckup keeps a history of smart values automatically & if there's errors gives you a predicted failure date. dunno how much history it needs to make a prediction tho > Even then there might still be some file system corruption.
