You don't need User Agent Switcher.  Just change it yourself.
Keep the Firefox/number at or above the current version.
general.useragent.override;Mozilla/55.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win128; x128; rv:57.0) Gecko/20200101 Firefox/77.0

User Agent Switcher still works.  If you open the .xpi file, extract
install.rdf and increase the max version number for SeaMonkey, save the
file, put it back into the archive, save the archive and install it, the
extension will install and it will work.
You can download the installer with any browser.  Just right-click the
green button and choose save.

So, it stops working without this fix in 2.49?  It works fine as is in 2.48.

That depends on what the max version was. It will be considered "incompatible" if the max version is less than the current version of SeaMonkey. In fact, I took to increasing the max version in all themes and extensions that I use with SeaMonkey to avoid the hassle of them being called incompatible the next time I update SeaMonkey.
