You can also /ignore users and when you (mozilla.org) have control over all the servers on a network you can implement whatever blocking / auth features you want. Only the devs need a backlog. Is it too hard to use a bouncer? Mozilla mission: "Our mission is to ensure the Internet is a global public resource, open and accessible to all." cool.. and then use Slack as communication channel..
