Thank you for trying. The result would have been interesting. I am using
Gentoo, mostly stable, but my glibc is part of stable.

All versions smaller than 2.28 are masked and cannot be installed. That
happens normally when serious problems are discovered. At the moment I
am using 2.28. Unstable is at 2.29.
