Emphasis mine. Key error here: you didn't do it from a command prompt.
On Windows, press the Windows key, then "R" and enter "cmd" in the input
window, hit Enter.
In the window that opens, type "ping www.td.com" WITH a space and
WITHOUT the quotation marks. Hit Enter. When I do it, I get:
Pinging e307.b.akamaiedge.net [173.223.16.47] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 173.223.16.47: bytes=32 time=10ms TTL=59
Reply from 173.223.16.47: bytes=32 time=12ms TTL=59
