What's the typical MTU on a modem? Someone said he had seen one with 256 bytes, but is that typical?
My ISP (OTEnet here in Greece) gives a full 1500 (i.e. 1472 bytes of data).
Just in case you are wondering, I used the "ping -f" method with it's main web server (www.otenet.gr), which failed above 1472 bytes.
