I've been doing bulk mail for years. Just as you have direct 5 digit, 3 digit, ACD is
another sorting group--done by zip code. The post office has a list
of what zips go in what ACD bundle. I can only imagine since your list maight not
change much, this woman coded your list to make life easier. It sounds
like an internal thing. Maybe there is something I don't know about, but I would ask
the Post Office. They have a rule for everything! --Wendy Coe
