I don't know what an ACD code is either but I am sure it is related to
getting cheaper rates for large mailings. There are a number of different
things that reduce postage costs, including carrier route numbers and
barcodes. Leaving any of these off do not result in misdelivered mail, only
higher costs. I think barcodes is the best rate and I don't think FileMaker
is capable of handling them without extra cost extensions.
There are many unused text fields in the names file but you need one that is
on an existing layout. Do a find * in several candidates and see if you are
using the field for anything.
Some possibilites are the EXT field on work phones, the ORIGIN field, the
CTRY field if you have no foreign addresses, and the various Contact Flags
which only have room for only one visible character when your cursor is not
in the field but are full text fields.
