Although it's a little hard to tell from this distance what the 
details are, I agree with Walt that it's likely something wrong with 
the upgrade process.

How did you do the data transfer? Usual way is to import data from 
each .102 file to the corresponding .103 file. In addition you need 
to update the auto-enter index for those fields which automatically 
assign record number. If you don't, new records will be assigned a 
number that could duplicate a record already there, and cause the 
kind of mixup you're seeing.
