Go to layout mode, select the layout you want to add to the menu from the rolodex, select the menu item Layouts>Layout Setup, and check the box "Include in Layouts Menu". A word of caution: I don't see any problem using envelopes in this way, but some layouts include summary fields which require records to be sorted in a particular way, or a particular found set. These layouts are usually accessed through scripts which have the search and sort criteria embedded in them.
