Ebase has a file named ZIPS_ that it uses to link a zip code to other fields, like city, state, county, congressional district, time zone, etc. Some of these fields are set to be filled in automatically when you enter the zip code.
The ZIPS_ file that comes with Ebase doesn't have much data in it, but I have created one that has about 41,000 records in it for the entire U.S. You can download it at: http://www.lelievre.net/downloads.htm Copy this file into your Ebase folder to overwrite the old ZIPS_ file. When you enter new records, the COUNTY field will be filled in automatically. You'll need to add the COUNTY field to one of the layouts. You can use the Filemaker REPLACE command to update existing records.
