This may be too large a topic for this forum. But I'll assume you already
have an ethernet network in place and copies of FileMaker on both computers.
You can't network without FileMaker. If so, you need to have a network
protocol set up in Edit>Preferences>Application, usually TCP/IP, on both
computers before you begin. All files should be set in File>Sharing to
Multiuser. Open all the files on the host computer (your choice). You can do
both steps by running the script on the Admin screens which opens all files
and sets them to multiuser. This is because the second computer will be
unable to open any file not already open on the host. On the guest computer,
start FileMaker and click the Hosts button in the Open dialog. A new dialog
should appear with the ebase data file listed. Open it.

Note that it's very important to have backups of ALL your data (.100, .102
or .103 files) on removable media. The likelihood of needing them is
increased over a network, because it is now 3 times as likely for something
to crash (host computer, remote computer and network). Don't keep backups on
the computer itself unless you rename or compress the files.

If you have no network, you may need local help setting one up. Minimally,
you'll need an ethernet card in each computer and a cable connecting them.
More than 2 computers require a hub. Additional setup depends on the
operating system of the computer.
